Dr Sarah Somerville
My Chiropractic journey started with the fascination of the human body. Biology was my favourite subject and I was always intrigued by how the human body worked. My interest lead me on the path of studying Human Genetics. Unfortunately, the laboratory setting lacked the human interaction that Chiropractic provides. I missed hearing stories of people... the reasons they were here or what they did the night before. I felt very isolated and quickly learned that people are my passion. I love to speak to people, to learn from their experiences and hear the stories of the past and present.
Helping people feeds my soul because I can resonate with their suffering, especially when they are in pain. I knew that compassion is my strength, but it was not enough. Studying Chiropractic helped me to do more than just share compassion for someone who was in pain... I could actually help them.
I love the hands on approach of Chiropractic and just how well it works by getting the body to function optimally. I love seeing the transformation of seeing someone who could barely sit and after a Chiropractic session, watching them move more freely and easily. Providing education on posture and giving exercises to help maintain a strong healthy back is also very important, which is the reason why I joined the Better Backs team. Dr Young and I enjoy implementing a holistic approach in the treatment of our patients, as I feel that it provides greater benefits for you as a patient overall.
I am extremely excited to be joining the Better Backs Team and I look forward to meeting you soon!
